London Clancy, the M3 and Solent Commercial Property Agents and Chartered Surveyors, are pleased to announce another success for their Trainee Surveyors.
Tom Clancy, based in the firm’s agency department in Basingstoke, has completed the Portsmouth University MSc Real Estate Management course achieving the ‘Distinction’ highest grade.
Tom combined working with a part-time course at Portsmouth University conducting his Masters over 2 years.
Tom found the combination of work and study allowed him to apply what he learned into his day to day activities for clients. “Agency work in a regional commercial property firm is very varied, so using the learnt skills was very interesting.” He added: “I’ve learned a lot, no two days are the same. I can sometimes be undertaking a viewing in a rain-soaked yard or visiting clients in state of the art office accommodation.”
To date, he has worked in the agency department of the firm but his work-load will include more valuation and professional work too as London Clancy has a wide client base covering the M3, the Solent corridor and also Surrey.
His career path was not direct as Tom successfully gained a BA in Business and Management, but, with the flexibility shown by London Clancy, undertaking a Masters in Estate Management has allowed Tom to progress towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
He will now start his Assessment of Professional Competence, APC.
As a firm, London Clancy have welcomed graduates from varied backgrounds into the property profession.
As Director James Clay says: “We are delighted for Tom and look forward to supporting him through the final stages to RICS Membership over the forthcoming months. We see the variety of entry into the property surveying industry as very positive and plan to continue to support graduates.”
